compo rules

PC/Amiga 256byte Intro
- maximum size: 256 bytes
- must quit on pressing ESC (PC) or left mouse button (Amiga)
- mustn't write on the hard drive

PC/Amiga 4k Intro
- maximum size: 4096 bytes
- must quit on pressing ESC (PC) or left mouse button (Amiga)
- mustn't write on the hard drive
- usage of "dropper" is allowed (PC)

PC/Amiga 64k Intro
- maximum size: 65536 bytes
- must quit on pressing ESC (PC) or left mouse button (Amiga)
- mustn't write on the hard drive

PC/Amiga/Console Demo
- maximum size 15MB (unzipped)
- maximum showing time: 10 minutes
- must quit on pressing ESC (PC) or left mouse button (Amiga)
- mustn't write on the hard drive
- special hardware/software demands should be claimed before the party


Tracked Music
- maximum playing time: 3:30min.
- maximum size: 2MB
- one musician can enter with at most 2 tracks
- no remixes are accepted
- possible formats: XM IT MOD S3M
- player: XMplay latest official version

Mp3/Ogg Music
- maximum playing time: 3:30min.
- possible formats: MP3/Ogg
- maximum size: none
- one musician can enter with at most 2 tracks
- no remixes are accepted
- player: WinAmp


Handdrawn Gfx
- pictures made by handdrawn techniques (pixel or photoshop "painting")
- maximum resolution 800x600
- should be in some better known format (jpg,tga,bmp,gif,tif,png)
- please bundle some picture phases (i.e. pictures from the creation stages)

Freestyle Gfx
- any techniques are allowed for creating the pictures (retouching/collaging of scanned pictures, handdrawn/hand-painted pictures etc.) Raytraced pictures also compete in this compo!
- maximum resolution 800x600
- should be in some better known format (jpg,tga,bmp,gif,tif,png)
- please bundle some picture phases


Wild Demo/Animation
- anything which doesn't fit into the other categories
- if you need some special hardware, please report it before the party. if we don't have it, you should bring it.

1 hour compo
- create something in 1 hour at the party place which fits the subject given by us
- can be anything: demo, music, picture, even a live act on the stage.
- the bigscreen will show the time remaining

Retro Music
- maximum playing time: 3:30min.
- one musician can enter with at most 2 tracks
- please enter it in an executable format

Retro Gfx
- please enter it in an executable format
- scrolling pictures will be disqualified (Leon gets his own compo this year too :)
